Rock Eagle Men's Retreat is
spiritual retreat produced by the United Methodist Men
Georgia. George as a volunteer again served on the
committee for over 15 years. The retreats committee is
the body that
put together the annual spiritual retreat at Rock Eagle.
Up to 1,000
men would attend this event. A significant amount of
time goes into
the planning, preparation and putting on of the retreat.
George has taught
Sunday school in the past. He currently leads a men's
every Thursday morning. He is also involved in the
recovery ministry as a volunteer with his wife. His
wife, who is a
Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified
Counselor is the leader of this ministry. George
spends a lot of time actively working with his wife in the
recovery ministry. His wife also works with a group of
veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
(PTSD). George does not participate in this because he has
not been a combat
veteran, nor does he suffer from PTSD, but does support
his wife in
this volunteer ministry.
